Safety should always be a top priority

Sharp knives.

Being in a rush.

Being tired.

The three ingredients in the recipe for PAIN!

So there I was. Tired. In a hurry. Irritable. The usual. Needing lettuce for a sandwich I grabbed a knife and started slicing. The first few slices were perfect and then I felt the sting of a sharp object slicing into and through my fingernail.

This was only a fraction of the blood that spewed forth.

So what’s the first thing you do in a situation like this? Duh. You take a picture of it for posterity! It bled like a stuck pig. Of course I had to screw around, so I wrote my name in the sink. LOL! After bandaging it up I finished my sandwich. Took the bandage off the next morning and more or less have kept it off since. I heal very quickly, so it wasn’t a big deal. Didn’t really hurt much either. After about two weeks I peeled off the dead section of nail. As of this writing it is almost completely healed.

The morning after.

In all seriousness though, I cannot stress safety enough. As I tell my daughter all the time, be careful and PAY ATTENTION to what you are doing.
